How to add a post to a latest news & class page

News posts work in a similar way to pages, with the exception of categories. News Posts can be assigned to various categories, which is how we can determine where it should show. For example, posts in the Latest News category will show in the latest news page and posts in the Class 3 category will show on the Class 3 class page. Posts can have multiple categories assigned to them, meaning they can show in various locations. Posts also have featured images; this is an image that displays alongside the post as a nice summary of what it’s about. Don’t worry if you don’t have one, a generic one will be used if you don’t choose.

Click “Add New” at the top of the Posts section in your dashboard and you will be redirected to the Visual Builder to start composing your post. The first step is to configure your post, expand the Menu using the circular purple button at the bottom and click the Settings Cog to load up Page settings. From here we can give our post a title, set a custom featured image and the category we want our post to be in. Click the green tick when you are happy.

To speed up the process of creating news posts, we have created some templates you can use. Click the plus button on the left-hand side of the menu at the bottom to load up our Template Library. Next, click the template you’d like to use, I’m going to choose News Post with a Single Image.

Now, we can begin to replace the demo content with our news post content. Click the image, click the settings cog and click anywhere on the existing image to load the media library and replace. We can now click the text, click the settings cog and paste in our blog content.

Finally, click the green “Publish” button in the bottom right corner to make your post live.

When you are happy with your changes, press the tick on any open settings windows then use the “Exit Visual Builder” button at the top of the page to save any final changes and exit the editor.
