You can promote students into the next year group and class from within the portal.
If you are a school using Xporter or Wonde, then all you need to do in September is press the integration button within your student’s section. This will bring in your new students if you haven’t already done so, detect any students that have left and will automatically update the year and class groups of your students.
If you aren’t using Xporter or Wonde, the first step is to click into your Settings tab and ensure that you have created a Leavers year and class if you’d like to, alternatively you can delete the students out of the portal. You should also create or re-name any existing classes as necessary for the new academic year using Actions and Edit or Create New.
Once your classes are setup, the next step is for us to begin promoting students. We recommend starting this process from the top with the oldest students first, for example, promoting Year 6 to Leavers, then Year 5 into Year 6 etc. Click into the Students tab on the left and click Promote, this allows us to select which students we’d like to move to a new class and year. Here, you may select entire years and classes, or select students from multiple classes in the case classes are getting mixed or are changing. You can see a definite list of which students you have selected on the right-hand side.
Once you are happy with your selection, click Next and you will be asked to choose which year and class you’d like the students you selected to be promoted to. Click Next to confirm your selection and click Submit to confirm the promotion.
Now, you can repeat this step for each class and year in your school to complete the promotion process.
When you are ready to remove current school leavers, click into your Students tab, filter by leavers, bulk select them all and click Group Actions and Delete.
